Says hypocritical Muslims nearly drove him to suicide

A popular YouTube content creator from Egypt has announced his exit from Islam, citing “racism and cruelty” fueled by the ideology as driving factors for his decision.
Story continues below advertisementShady Srour, 24, currently boasts over 4.4 million YouTube subscribers. He recently broadcast his departure from Islam in a viral Facebook post that has garnered over 102,000 comments at the time of this writing.
“I left Islam because of racism and cruelty in the hearts of people who are supposed to believe in god, but in fact, they are a bunch of insincere hypocrites,” Srour wrote in Arabic on Facebook.
Srour also asserts that cyber-bullying by fellow Muslims nearly drove him to suicide last year, saying it pushed him to a high level of “psychological torment as a human being.”
Top comments on the post have garnered up to 46,000 reactions, ranging from sentiments of support to aggressive denunciation.
“Srour is one of YouTube’s top earners in the region,” notes RT. “His case has highlighted a growing trend of Egyptians turning against Islam, many suggesting the religion has played a role in the social chaos plaguing the country.”

I have lost all the people who are on the day of their habitation and have become lonely. The only one exposed to barbaric attack with no one ever hurt. I even had social and political positions in the interests of good society despite my small age and limited abilities. That’s good at least it’ll force his followers to consider being an ex-Muslim also. Whatever can be done to eliminate this death cult is great. No doubt the regular muzzies will want him dead. But if Muslims leave Islam by the droves then we will have won the war by other means.

Yes fair point. I’ve seen some ex-Muslims still show sympathy to their community and to Islam. Take Cenk Uygur of TYT fame. He claims to be an Atheist but he spends most of his time defending Muslims when he discusses politics and religion.
So I agree not all of them can be trusted, we still have to be wary. However many who leave do realize that there is something seriously wrong with the religion and its followers (mainstream Muslims).
Some ex-Muslims convert to Christianity or Atheism and I trust them more than any regular Muslim. It’s the best we can hope for apart from deporting them all or going to war with them.
Though I believe in an all of the above approach will be required to neutralize this threat, something China already figured out but the West still has yet to learn.

It is a shame to have to exercise caution, but it is understandable. I hope those who leave will also understand.
China’s motto is ” if brutality is an issue throughout the country, then we’re just not using enough of it”. They paint every non-sanctioned expression of faith and freedom with the same blood soaked brush. It’s not the same as “figuring it out”, and even though their tactics stop this darkness from contaminating their country, they also stop the light from freeing their people.

A very brave man.Let us remember that Egypt was once a very civilized and and advanced civilization until the Muslims conquered it and established a rule of terror and destruction that has persisted for 1400 years. Hopefully, the example of Mr. Srour will inspire other young Egyptians to leave Islam and lead their nations and peoples out of darkness and grinding poverty.

I know a Muslim who says he is an atheist. My girl friend is dating him. I told her to be very careful because of the takkya pounded in the muslims since childhood.He said to me , for example , that there is no zakat in halal food I thinks he is either a liar or he is ignorant.
I told my friend to go to to the French site”La vigilance halal” founded by a group of veterinarians and watch the 3 short videos. You can press the sign for English subtitles.
I told my friend’s boyfriend what I tought about islam several times.

I don’t just hate islam. I hate all muslims too. It is only logical.
I got a few day’s ban on FB for saying something like that and it’s useless arguing with those social media giants, it only prolongs the time off-line. But if a muslim is defined as one who practises islam as set out in the immutable words of allah in the ‘holy’ koran then I HAVE to hate people who kill unbelievers or support those crimes, who torture animals, particularly dogs, for fun, who are sworn to destroy every_Jew on the planet, who treat women like cattle, who fly planes into tall buildings and deliberately murder little girls and their parents.
It’s OK to say I hate Nazis (and I do), so what’s the difference?

umm… the racism and cruelty is in the hearts of believers when they call the Allah of Mohammad their God. That is because racism and cruelty are built into the political ideology called Islam. If he didn’t understand this, then was he even a Muslim? I would think the very devout would say not. But now he’s gone from heretic to apostate. Things can only get worse for him as the Quran prescribes death for apostates unless they return to the faith.
