No indication of motive, but apparently this was not Islamic jihad.

Twelve people have been killed at a country music bar in southern California after a masked gunman wearing all black opened fire on crowds of college kids before taking his own life with a semi-automatic handgun.
Story continues below advertisementThe shooter has been named as 29-year-old Ian Long. Witnesses described him as a heavily-tattooed white man who was wearing a black trench coat and a black bandanna at the time.
He stormed Borderline Bar and Grill in Thousand Oaks on Wednesday at 11.20pm. He first shot the bouncer then opened fire on the crowds of youngsters who were there to enjoy a night of line dancing and country music.
As dozens ran for their lives, hid beneath pool tables and used bar stools to shatter the windows to escape, the shooter continued firing his Glock .45 that was legally bought in Ventura County.
He also threw smoke grenades to confuse the crowds.
When the first police officers arrived at the scene three minutes later, the gunman shot one of them multiple times before shooting himself. By the time SWAT teams arrived, he was dead. The sheriff’s sergeant who was shot later died in hospital. He was Ron Helus, a 29-year veteran.
In total, 13 are dead; 11 people inside the bar, the sheriff’s sergeant and the gunman. The gunman was 29 and drove his mother’s car to the bar to carry out the attack….

The 85-year-old Ginsburg, nominated by former President Clinton in 1993, is among the most liberal justices on the court, which is now split 5-4 in favor of conservatives after President Trump named Justices Brett Kavanaugh and Neil Gorsuch.
Ginsburg, who is the subject of a documentary “RGB” and a new film “On the Basis of Sex,” said in an interview in July that she would like to stay on the court until she turns 90.
“I’m now 85,” she told CNN. “My senior colleague, Justice John Paul Stevens, he stepped down when he was 90, so I think I have about at least five more years.”

Notice nothing is said about the type of discharge he received when leaving the Corps. Remember the church shooter at Sutherland Spribgs, TX had a less than honorable discharge from the Air Force which would have made firearms possession a felony.

This was a conservative group of college students….Ventura County has traditionally been very conservative, country music fans tend to be conservative, and there is a photo of one of the students wearing a Reagan/Bush t-shirt, so yeah, possible motive would be to murder conservatives.

Then they have a red patch on the clothing or a red cloth hanging from the pocket which they can quickly conceal signifying communism, which is their secret handshake. Don’t have jobs and live with mom. You only find conservatives at country music venues. And the Antifa’s motto is “By Any Means Necessary”. Many videos of Antifas using concealed hammers to club innocent people’s skulls from behind. He probably was at Berkeley no-platforming rallies.

That he is “White” is of little importance as that indicates race and Islam isn’t a race.
However, the tattoos would likley imply that he is not Muslim. His skin color does not. Islamic conquerors did not discriminate regarding the races of people they’ve kidnapped and consumed.
Still – about 50% of the terror attacks are linked to Islam in the US – that is a lot of attacks to credit just about 2% of the populatin with.

We need to have deep psyche evaluations to people that apply for gun licenses. You really have to be a deranged person to want to slaughter innocent people who are just out to have a good time.
I am pro-gun but we cannot discount the fact that it is an extremely effective tool for mass murder. So it should be only given to those who are proven to be safe, sane, responsible and will only use it in self-defense.
I agree with the others, the media loves to tout when the killer is a white male, but if it’s a black or Muslim then they try to hide the identity and the motive.
There is a very obvious anti-white bias and a pro-Muslim bias by the Left. They don’t seem to mind when Muslims go on a jihad rampage and want to encourage more of it.

Stuff goes wrong in their life. Maybe no one noticed or maybe someone tried to help and the help was rejected. Most people don’t want to believe someone they know who is troubled would or could do something like this. You can’t always predict people or read their minds. Sometimes we can only speculate after the fact.

It just seems like few people are actively their “brother’s keeper” anymore and it just really stinks. Nobody should be able to slip entirely through the cracks. So many are lately. If no one can prevent these things from happening, they are going to keep happening. Everyone is busy and dealing with their own particular stuff but some people are busy planning out stuff like this and no one else cares or even cares to notice until it’s too late. It seems so totally pointless. Someone had to know this guy. How could nobody know that this is where he was at?

The control you advocate would require a police state beyond imagination. One where thought crime arrests would be instituted by everyone from your closest family members to the clerk at your local convenience store. Even then human sin nature would prevail often. Locks and laws help keep honest people in check, reprobates will always figure a way around them…

The breakdown of the family has heavily contributed to that. What s going on is very sad. Even good friends would look out for one another more so in the past than today. Also note that what’s normal has become “relative” so who wants to say what is normal and what is abnormal? How is a guy dressed up like a woman normal? Our absolutes have been slipping away so maybe people are less reluctant to get involved with politically correct standards prevailing.

The most despicable part of this whole story was how quickly the media rushed to defend the shooter by blaming the whole incident on PTSD, a phony clinical description of an everyday whack job.
After having served in Vietnam, I began to hear stories about how the experience there “f*cked up” some who went. BS! They were “f*cked up” before they ever went over there.

I don’t believe most of what law enforcement or government says about mass shootings. Too much is fabricated or hidden. Lies abound. There is very little honor, integrity or ethics in government anymore. It is a reflection of society which tends to put up a good front.
Take for instance the people at the bar. Many of them were from two near by ‘Christian’ Universities. So called Christians, at a bar, dressed like whores, getting drunk, hooking up with strangers. The media keeps calling them innocent, that’s disingenuous. But what isn’t debatable, is that they are now tragically no longer on this earth because of their choices. And much much worse, it is very unlikely, that heaven is where they next woke up.

Dress alone doesn’t make what you describe. I didn’t read any of them were drunk and in fact they were very careful about those allowed to drink. Those not legally allowed to drink had their wrists marked. I can’t say it was a hook up for strangers either.
It was a country western place for kids to dance and hang out. This kind of music is typically enjoyed by conservatives – no liberals. Ventura county is fairly conservative. These kids presented themselves better than most watering hole gatherings. I understand how standards have dropped but I am unwilling to think the worst of them at a time like this when they are the victims. I don’t know why this nutcase chose them to murder. The massacre in La Vegas was also country western. Again, it is conservative minded people that are more attracted to that style of music. Do you see a pattern here?

No one goes to a bar to have a bible study. Or further their academic studies. They go to party. They go to hook up. To increase their chances of hooking up, they paint their faces and wear revealing clothes to lure and tempt. And yes, I saw read eyes and dilated pupils. The shooter didn’t force anyone to be at that bar on that night. Out of the millions of positive things those sinners could have been doing, they chose to be in a bar. A place that God abhors, because the things that go on in a bar are unGodly.
You are responsible for how you choose to live your life. On judgement day we will all stand alone before God. No one will try to justify to omnipotent God that they were drinking at the bar. They will be weeping because they realize that they deserve the hell that awaits them.
