The history of Islam is no more drenched in the blood of the unbeliever than your own; the fact that you would accuse its overwhelming majority of practicing some watered down version while ignoring your own Scripture speaks volumes towards your ignorance and hypocrisy.

Wake up to what truth? The truth that the Bible has been used as a justification for as much bloodshed and atrocity as the Qur’an throughougt history? That both religion’s scriptures when compared – without confirmation bias – are written in such a way as to provide contradictory interpretations? That it is the height of arrogance to claim another’s religion is ‘watered-down’ when precisely the same accusation can be made about the religion you practice?

According to this verse, the best way of staying safe from Muslim violence is to convert to Islam (prayer (salat) and the poor tax (zakat) are among the religion’s Five Pillars). This popular claim that the Quran only inspires violence within the context of self-defense is seriously challenged by this passage as well, since the Muslims to whom it was written were obviously not under attack. Had they been, then there would have been no waiting period (earlier verses make it a duty for Muslims to fight in self-defense, even during the sacred months). The historical context is Mecca after the idolaters were subjugated by Muhammad and posed no threat. Once the Muslims had power, they violently evicted those unbelievers who would not convert.

Yes, He did. The Lord takes sin seriously. Read about what was happening during the time of Noah to get an idea of how corrupt people were. He gave folks a chance and they refused. He gave Pharaoh a chance to release the Hebrew slaves, but he refused even after God showed him His sovereign power; therefore, God dealt harshly with Pharaoh. Many people believe they are not accountable to God and they can do whatever they please. Even in the New Testament people rejected God’s ultimate love for them by Him coming to Earth in the form of Jesus, dying for their sins and giving them hope of eternity. Folks today are no different – the created say to the Creator: I refuse your offer and reject your love and forgiveness. God will not flood the earth again, but He will deal a swift blow to sin when He returns the second time. He will not allow people to continue to live forever in sin. In fact, Jesus said the people will die in their sins unless they believe that He is the Savior of the world.

Explanation as I understand it: Firstly, one must understand the difference between the God of the Bible and the god of the Quran. The Biblical God is the Eternal Living and only God (Is 43:11, 45:5). There are no gods/Gods besides HIM. Allah is not the God. The Bible was written by God through men, and the Quran was written by a man (Muhammad) by the workings of demonic influence. God brings judgment supernaturally or through men. Mohammad brought and brings judgment by the sword by men. For example, the 21 Coptic Christians who repeatedly claimed Jesus with their mouths and were beheaded by ISIS.

People have always rebelled against God as their sinful bent is to do as they please. God is just and cannot allow sin to reign forever; therefore, He “wiped out”, as you stated, sin by exterminating people during Noah’s time and Pharaoh’s era (read the historical accounts of their sins against God). The God of the Old Testament (OT) dealt with sin directly. The same God of the New Testament decided by His Divine plan to enter earth as a baby, grow up into a man, and sacrifice himself for you and I and the whole of humanity past, present and future. Why? Because of His love for us – He had to deal with SIN once and for all, so he took upon Himself the “sins of the whole world”. God still operates the same as He did in the OT, but humans are now under a period of Grace, where we do not necessarily experience His Divine intervention to deal with sin directly and outright. There is one incident in the Book of Acts where God dealt a direct blow to king Herod, who, even though he knew the scriptures about God’s sovereignty, wholeheartedly accepted “godship” from the citizens. God struck Herod with intestinal worms – Acts 12. Herod did not die immediately but was given five days to repent of his sin against God. Nothing is mentioned whether he repented. I will know when I am in Heaven.

The bottom line to escape God’s final wrath on humanity:

God through Jesus came to earth and gave all folks hope for eternity.
